See attached screenshot (and r837 ): this is what I am working on in

As an update of the install disk is needed for issue 432 (exporting functions to ReaScript) so the idea is to take this opportunity to:

  • Ease the install of the extension (lots of Qs about that in the forums), i.e. to add a relative link to "~/Library/Application Support/REAPER/UserPlugins"
  • Optional: add .py files (contrary to Windows, 2 files w/ reascript func wrappers will have to be released: 32&64-bit, the destination folder will be different too: OS constraints, can't access to or contents)
  • Optionnal: sws-whatnew (first in .txt format, later in HTML format as suggested by Tim)

Feedback and better ideas about reascript wappers installation are more than welcome!

Note: ATM I'm stuck because of a bug in DMG Canvas, see r837 comments..

Hey Jeffos,

That looks good. I'm surprised you got this to work!! When I first made the OSX installer I found that it was impossible (OS limitation) to make shortcuts to places in the user's home dir. Are you using some sort of trick? (Make sure you verify the shortcut actually points to ~ and not /home/jf) pkg-dmg seems to work really well and is easy.

Btw, to make the .ds_store file I just made a directory look the way I wanted it to with Finder and then copied the .ds_store file to /trunk/Install/sws_osx_install.dsstore. No fancy tools needed.

I find you a bit picky Tim! That's not a big deal, really.. Users just have to create a "Jeff" account and install REAPER & SWS there! hahaha ha!

... more serioulsy: yes, I first thought I found a good trick on the web to achieve drag from .dmg -> drop in ~ but it turned out it sucks..
So I moved to another solution in r848 (embed a script that does all the job, users can still dra-drop the dylib if they wish -but- they won't have the whatsnew and python wrappers in this case). Mail following about that..

Nothing to see (but interesting):
I got a great support from Araelium Group (DMG Canvas), it turned out I found a bug in Apple's finder..
=> in short, do not embedd filenames containing hypens in a .dmg!

Status: Done

I tried this all out last night and it looks great! Thanks for fixing a definite weak spot.

I never would have guessed hyphens in DMG is bad...
