Migrate your scraps from v3 to v4 (EN)

Thomas edited this page Mar 28, 2017 · 1 revision

The scrap folders structure has been modified in the 4.x version of recalbox.

If you wish to migrate your scrap data (gamelist.xml and downloaded_images), here is how to proceed:

In version 3.x, the scrap data were placed in the following folders:

/root/.emulationstation/gamelists/dossier_emulateur
/root/.emulationstation/downloaded_images/dossier_emulateur

In version 4.x, the scrap folders have been moved to the folders of each emulator:

/recalbox/share/roms/emulator_folder

ainsi on retrouvera cette structure :

/recalbox/share/roms/emulator_folder/gamelist.xml
/recalbox/share/roms/emulator_folder/images

You will have to move these files, and edit each gamelist.xml to reflect the new path.

Sample SNES GAMELIST.XML from recalbox 3.0.0*

<game id="1046" source="theGamesDB.net">
          <path>./ActRaiser (USA).zip</path>
          <name>ActRaiser (USA)</name>
<desc>During game play the player fills the role of the 'Master', a powerful being awakened from a long sleep to find the civilizations of his former world in shambles. Through a combination of side-scrolling action stages and overhead-view &#034;god&#034; simulation mode the Master slowly rebuilds his world and regains his followers and powers. He is not referred to as a deity of any kind, and it is stated in the manual that he is mortal, and this is the reason he hid away from the demons he was fighting when he had just enough power to seal himself away and wait them out.</desc>

          <genre>Action</genre>
          <players>1</players>

In this file, the path to the game image is this one: <image>~/.emulationstation/downloaded_images/snes/ActRaiser (USA)-image.jpg</image>

In recalbox v4.0.0, the path becomes:

`<image>./images/ActRaiser (USA)-image.jpg</image>`

or

`<image>./downloaded_images/ActRaiser (USA)-image.jpg</image>`
