@brettchalupa

A similar walkthrough to the Refinery Heroku Walkthrough would be insanely helpful for setting up Inquiries with SendGrid or Mandrill on Heroku.

I am struggling to get this working and the README setup doesn't get overly specific on using a mail sending service.

@jmercedes

I agree.

I'll try putting together something. If it's just regular actionmailer settings like normal rails/devise then it should be simple.

edit: yes it's that simple. I'll add a link to basic instructions for setting up action mailer settings.

http://guides.rubyonrails.org/action_mailer_basics.html#action-mailer-configuration-for-gmail
is a good example

my setup looks like:

config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => 'example.com', :port => 80, :protocol => 'http' }
config.action_mailer.smtp_settings = {
  :port           => ENV['MAILGUN_SMTP_PORT'],
  :address        => ENV['MAILGUN_SMTP_SERVER'],
  :user_name      => ENV['MAILGUN_SMTP_LOGIN'],
  :password       => ENV['MAILGUN_SMTP_PASSWORD'],
  # TODO: get a custom domain on mailgun
  :domain         => ENV['MAILGUN_SMTP_LOGIN'].split('@')[1],
  :authentication => :plain,

}
config.action_mailer.delivery_method = :smtp
