IRC Bots

Rachel J. Morris,

These are various IRC Bot projects I'm working on, mainly just for experimentation and fun.

Metrics Bot

IRC Bot written with Python for recording activity in a channel and save metrics to CSV files. I don't have a really good use for this, it's mainly because I like seeing metrics on stuff like "Most used words" or "Activity during the day".

Could be useful if my channel experiences more attacks later.

Currently, this bot will keep track of:

  • Member joins (to "userlist.csv")
  • Member leaving (to "userlist.csv")
  • Member nick change (to "userlist.csv")
  • Conversation (to "conversation.csv")
  • Work count (current not exported to csv)

Kitten Bot

Virtual pet bot "game"

I'm just beginning to learn Python, and don't quite have a grasp of classes. Right now it's decently clean, but I will update it as I add to it.
