Is there some way to enable ssl support for headphones? what I mean is that I would like to access headphones via SSL (https://my-headphones-url.com)

Yes, enable it in the webui and restart headphones. Alternativly, set enable_https to 1 in config.ini.

I'll have to double check this but I think the enable https option is for
using a reverse proxy, while the ssl option actually will enable true ssl
support in cherrypy (the webserver framework that headphones uses)

I'm having a problem enabling SSL on windows.Whenever I enable it I can no longer access headphones.

Here's my log http://pastebin.com/D9wgMAbK

I'm also having problems setting up SSL on WIndows. Looks like the webserver keeps restarting, logs looks the same as from MrsAngelD.
