If I use https://github.com/apps/renovate (Mend Renovate hosted app on github.com) to scan private repositories within the organization, will there be any charges or other limitations? Also, why do I see that Mend SCA is a paid service on the official website (https://www.mend.io/pricing/)? What are the differences?

What you tried so far.

I saw on https://www.mend.io/free-developer-tools/blog/renovate-is-now-part-of-mend/ that even private repositories within the organization are free, but I also noticed on https://www.mend.io/pricing/ that Mend SCA Advanced has a cost, which confuses me.

The GitHub Apps page you're linking to has this text, I've bolded the relevant parts:

This app is free to install for both public and private repositories. Service is provided complimentary of Mend (formerly known as WhiteSource) and no paid plan is required.

Maybe we should emphasize the "free" parts more?

Possible solutions:

1. Bold some of the "free keywords", or
2. Move the text under a new heading: "Free for private and public repositories"?
3. Do nothing

I don't have rights to edit the GitHub app text for us. So one of the maintainers will need to apply one of the fixes above. 😉
