Is "Timeout" triggered if no response is received or the response isn't received completely? #442

I'm trying to get HTTP status code of web pages by making GET requests.

Some web pages "Timeout" and I can't get the status codes. Wondering if this means:

  • no response is received
  • response is received but not completely

If it is the 2nd option, is there a way to get the status code (if it is already received) even if the timeout happens?

Thanks so much.

Would love to know this also - if the later of the two then I'd love to have some form of connection timeout not request timeout. :)

timeout is either a socket timeout or a "request timeout" which means it just hasn't returned anything by some threshold. i would be surprised if any timeouts were happening after headers we received.
