GRIM: Fix MD5 sums for german versions. #845
Conversation
These are the verified, correct checksums for most german disc versions (after removal of the "copy protection" that is on some discs).
Are the older german ones wrong? Or are there multiple editions of the german version? |
I'm pretty sure they are wrong, since they are the correct MD5 sums of other files of the german version... Please compare:
|
I'll verify against my own version when I get some time. |
@somaen Did you get a chance to verify the MD5 hashes? |
I'll take a look over the weekend. The reason why I'm holding back on this is that I was rather sure that I verified this against my own German discs |
any updates? |
I just did a quick test against my German CD 1 (jewelcase), and atleast vox0000 matches these changes perfectly. My Vox-files match, my movie-files do not, then again I can't remember which files have problems being read because of the copy protection, so it might be that. I can atleast vouch for the Vox-file MD5s being quite likely to be correct (with multiple verifications of it now). My movie-lab files does matche nudgenoonies md5s in #796 though, so we're likely to have done something similar. (The same also applies to my local.lab MD5 above. |
Merging this, and crossing my fingers that it's correct. |

Please the the original MD5 forum thread for verification: http://forums.residualvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=215 - Here user desperadoduck, M[u]ddy and mark verify those MD5 sums as correct
Additionally, I can confirm those MD5 sums match with my own version. See also #796, where I try to explain how those incorrect MD5s ended up in the source code (probably a copy & paste error).
