Output of restic version

restic 0.9.3 compiled with go1.11.1 on windows/amd64

How did you run restic exactly?

cd %USERPROFILE%
set RESTIC_PASSWORD=restic
restic.exe -r restic-repo init
restic.exe -r restic-repo backup \server\test_share

What backend/server/service did you use to store the repository?

local disk

Expected behavior

Should backup the whole contents of the share.

Actual behavior

Stops with error message:
repository 1303a098 opened successfully, password is correct
Fatal: unable to save snapshot: Lstat: FindFirstFile \?\C:\Users\optiprime\server: The system cannot find the file specified.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

see above

Do you have any idea what may have caused this?

Sorry, no.

Do you have an idea how to solve the issue?

I have found 2 workarounds:

  1. Append a backslash to the share path:
    restic.exe -r restic-repo backup \server\test_share\
  2. Backup a sub-directory of the share (works with or without backslash!):
    restic.exe -r restic-repo backup \server\test_share\sub_dir

Did restic help you or made you happy in any way?

Yes, it is easy to use and fulfills all of my current requirements. I am in the progress to migrate all of my backups to restic!
