We are using a web hotel where absolute paths cannot really be determined in advance. There are backends and frontends, and changing the backend can affect absolute pathsof property files, resource directories etc..
I was wondering if you think it is possible to allow relative paths, and finding out the absolute path in the LifecycleListener. We would do that anyway, but maybe the whole project would benefit from it.

Yes I agree relative paths would be more flexible. This is similar to Issue #8, which requests locating files in the local WAR/exploded WAR area.

Yeah, I think we just need to prefix the relative paths with the servlet context path.
