Original report from nigeldhayes@gmail.com at 03:51:01 on 2010-04-27

I live in Africa and in the last few days the download fails to proceed past the "downloading" start. I have the 0.12 version. The previous versions worked well. One failure is the BBC's "The Book Cafe".

Imported from Bug 232 in the NerdoftheHerd.com Bugzilla.

Currently, I'm unable to reproduce this issue - episodes are downloading fine for me (including The Book Café). Unfortunately, without an error message or report, I'm currently unable to investigate this further.

If anyone experiencing this issue is familiar with Visual Studio and is able to download the source and troubleshoot this issue with the debugger, I'd be very interested to hear from you.

I don't know if this helps.

From 18 April nothing has down loaded. In the status column all items were showing as 'waiting'. I looked down my download list and noticed that an earlier download had started but had stuck so I deleted it, exited Radio Downloader and restarted it. This seems to have freed up the rest. I did have to restart Radio Downloader once or twice after this, but it now (4 May) seems to be working fine.

If anyone with this issue has recently experienced Radio Downloader crashes, it may be worth getting a fresh database to see if this resolves the issue:

This is just a shot in the dark, so don't know if this will make a difference or not - would be interested to hear.

Right, I believe I have finally managed to get to the bottom of this issue. It is a bug which breaks the download process when a download is no longer available, and a provider returns that it should be removed from the download list.

This is caused by the call which makes sure that the download has been aborted also aborting the code which is handling the removal request.

Resolved in ad8927d, along with an issue that I also noticed where episode auto download flags were being set to false for automatically removed downloads.
