Is there plan to provide a PPA for latest version instead of downloading and updating manually?

This would be great to see. I don't think we are quite in the position of maintaining one but if someone else was able to would be glad to help out :-)

Note also that we're trying to get rkt packaged upstream wherever possible - for example, Debian bug here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=782441

I found fpm presentation from links to this question http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/60097/cross-distribution-os-packaging quite amusing.

And also build farm with key to upload the package. https://build.opensuse.org/ is the one, but I've never used it.

I created a project on OBS in first line for myself and my chef-rkt cookbook.

I plan to maintain this packages as long as rkt isn't available via distributions. There are plans to add some additional tools like actool to this repository.

If you want to use it, feel free to do it
