I am a Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia who uses ocean color remote sensing and numerical ecosystem modelling to study coastal water quality and marine biogeochemistry.
Current research β³:
- Leading coastal water quality assessment for Darwin Harbour using satellite Earth observation, in-situ data, and hydrodynamic-biogeochemical models (TUFLOW FV, AED)
- Developing automated data pipelines and validation frameworks for numerical ecosystem models against satellite-derived water quality indicators
- Investigating spatial-temporal dynamics of nutrients, chlorophyll-a, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen for ecosystem health reporting
Past research π€:
- PhD research on long-term phytoplankton dynamics in the Southern Ocean using multi-decadal satellite time-series (GRL paper, Elementa paper)
- Contributing to the Cockburn Sound Integrated Ecosystem Model for environmental impact assessment
- Analyzing particulate organic carbon dynamics in the Bay of Bengal using satellite ocean color
Other research interests include:
- bio-optical algorithm development for coastal waters
- climate driver attribution on phytoplankton variability
- machine learning applications in marine environmental monitoring
- integration of satellite remote sensing with numerical hydrodynamic models
