This updates the RMTileStreamSource to be more in line with MapBox's current offerings. We're finding that most users are simply wanting to use the MapBox Streets layer, as Foursquare now is, but we want to still retain configurability for other tilesets and custom, local TileStream servers.

  • Class rename for clarity. The header still makes mention of using local TileStream servers instead of MapBox's servers if desired.
  • Support for TileJSON, which is an open spec that we use for layer specification. A JSON layer manifest can be supplied or downloaded from a URL which provides configuration info for a layer.
  • Addition of default init without argument for users just wanting to use MapBox Streets, a worldwide street-level base layer.
  • In order to keep things light, we are using iOS 5's built-in JSON parsing capability. A runtime assertion is performed to make sure we are on iOS 5 or greater. This will only affect Route-Me users if they are using this tile source already or want to in the future.
