As a fan of consistently structured messages (even if I don't always make them myself), I think this is a good change; and I'm happy for it to be on by default.

In the longer run, I think we should consider using a more involved graphic design, like a faded 'subject' and 'body' area in the background. I don't think users accustomed to other source control systems will have the necessary exposure to know what the two lines are meant to mean.
