Robo

Robo is a simple Jekyll theme that you can use for your blog.

Install

  1. Install Jekyll
  2. Fork the repository
  3. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/username/robo
  4. bundle install
  5. Run Jekyll locally: jekyll serve --watch

Customize

Set your blog title

Edit _config.yml and set title: to your blog title.

Set the hero image

Edit _includes/hero.html. Use a 350px wide image (the default image is 850px tall) and add it to /assets/images and then edit <img> tag to point to use your new image. You can also edit the text overlay or just remove it.

Add your aboutme

Edit _includes/about.html.

Add your footer

Edit _includes/footer.html.

Write some posts

Either edit the sample post _posts/2014-01-01-hello-world.md or delete the post and start writing your own.

Optional

  • Setup a custom domain.
  • Add another non-post page by creating a new file and then adding a link for the page in config.yml.
