Users should be able to map a domain to their website.

Implementation

  • users should authenticate with GitHub and specify the domain name they wish to use.
This is done to avoid collisions when/if a user specifies a domain already mapped (how does GitHub address this issue?).
  • The Repo class should check against a database (flat-file) to find a mappable domain. If found the repo class should update @site_name to the mapped domain.
  • nginx: *.ruhoh.com should be switched to a catch-all block which will resolve to both subdomain and custom mapped domain directories.
  • username.ruhoh.com should redirect to the mapped domain if available. how?

Hey Jade, just wondering how this feature is progressing - any estimate of when it will be available?
Thx

@dph01 I just sent out the email newsletter proudly announcing support for custom-mapped domain names. Just head over to http://post.ruhoh.com, authenticate with GitHub and follow the directions. Let me know if you have any problems and/or feedback. Thanks!
