Use actual return status, not 'local' builtin's.
Check return status of awk when adding an entry.
This will avoid truncating data file to zero length when disk is full.
Thanks for this. One question before I merge. Why did you separate the cd= line? Seems unnecessary as we aren't checking the return status of that one ...
It makes those lines look more consistent. Only a stylish change, could be in one line as well.
