From 6a84995fae01eb0ae18ef6bfc41b2979ca760447 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Ross MacArthur Date: Tue, 4 Jun 2024 10:51:05 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] Add function `core::iter::chain` The addition of `core::iter::zip` (#82917) set a precedent for adding plain functions for iterator adaptors. Adding `chain` makes it a little easier to `chain` two iterators. ``` for (x, y) in chain(xs, ys) {} // vs. for (x, y) in xs.into_iter().chain(ys) {} ``` --- library/core/src/iter/adapters/chain.rs | 37 +++++++++++++++++++++-- library/core/src/iter/adapters/mod.rs | 3 ++ library/core/src/iter/mod.rs | 2 ++ library/core/tests/iter/adapters/chain.rs | 8 +++++ library/core/tests/lib.rs | 1 + 5 files changed, 49 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/library/core/src/iter/adapters/chain.rs b/library/core/src/iter/adapters/chain.rs index bcaac2f42cf04..dad3d79acb183 100644 --- a/library/core/src/iter/adapters/chain.rs +++ b/library/core/src/iter/adapters/chain.rs @@ -4,8 +4,8 @@ use crate::ops::Try; /// An iterator that links two iterators together, in a chain. /// -/// This `struct` is created by [`Iterator::chain`].
