The problem: rust-lang/rust#24827. That's why the attributes have to be put at the end of the links and foreign_links declarations.

Use doc attributes to foreign links 
Following the pattern in https://github.com/rust-lang-nursery/error-chain/blob/master/src/example_generated.rs. See rust-lang-nursery/error-chain#63 for the necessity of this slightly ugly workaround.
