Is this somehow supported. Would be cool to protect the data against data theft.

+1 that would be great if Baikal stores the data encrypted.

Not sure it's practical / efficient to achieve this on a (Postgre|My)SQL system.

Furthermore, this would only protect data theft operated on a filesystem level, as data theft operated thru a vulnerability of the application would have access to the unencrypted db (obviously).
