I'm assigning you @haraldschilly since what do you think this should be? Just a link that says "make a support request" or something more? How automatic can/should this be?

I can't be fully automatic, because we need a trust relationship with the identity provider. (Otherwise, someone with bad intentions could make entries for various universities, even force them to use the method, and divert them to their own SSO server and collect all the credentials).

What could be automated is defining the service based on data published by the provider. That, combined with the metadata we need, could be a config page for admins. This still doesn't answer what IdPs should provide, because it depends on their system and well, at least right now I wouldn't know what all the possibilities are.
