Is this 2G / 3G mobile data connection issue already fixed? See JB#58008.

This is an old issue coming from x10ii. I cannot recreate it on x10iii, but wasn't able to on x10ii either. It was probably carried forward as fail-safe using the word "might":)
It's still in the x10ii 4.4.0 release notes, happens only to some SIMs and only in slot 2, those need to be retested on x10iii.
