Epidemic Simulator is a tool to simulate the SIR epidemic model described as follows:

S' = θR - βSI
I' = βSI - γI
R' = γI - θR


S(t): susceptible people
I(t): infected people
R(t): recovered people
β: infection rate
γ: recovery rate
θ: deimmunization rate

The simulation by this tool is a kind of cellular automaton.


Download the app.


Execute EpidemicSimulator.exe.
Set parameters on the right side, and click the ON/OFF toggle switch.
You can vary some parameters in real time.



  • Initial Settings
    • Width
    • Height
    • SIR Ratio of Population
  • Real-time Settings
    • Infection Rate
    • Recovery Rate
    • Deimmunization Rate
    • Looping Map: whether the disease propagate to the other side on the edge of the map
    • Interval (second): time interval between turns
