Please allow the master to bind to multiple sockets, including IPv6 sockets.
Please allow the minions to talk to the master using IPv6, meaning that the hostname should be resolved according to /etc/gai.conf and an IPv6 connection established if such is the preference.
IPv6 support is getting more and more important. I for one wanted to setup some IPv6-only host with salt before moving them into production while assigning them an IPv4 address from the server that they were replacing.
Initially reported in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=690526
Thanks, I will get this added in 0.10.7
Any updates on this issue?
I will look into getting this added in 0.13.0, it is on the milestone
I am still looking into this, ipv6 support in zeromq is still very young so this may need to be pushed off a bit.
I just added ipv6 support, the problem is that I don't have an ipv6 network at my disposal to test on this moment, I will test as soon as I can, until then you should be able to just specify your interfaces with ipv6 addrs and it should just work!
I was wondering what the current state of this issue is. At the moment I'm installing a test environment for salt based on the Debian packages from unstable. The environment is using IPv6, so maybe I can help test your changes?
The updates has some serious problems and broke zeromq for ipv4 networks. We need to revisit this
Maybe I can help you? Do you have a branch or a patch were the changes are included?
There is an open pull req for it which I need to re-evaluate. Basically ipv6 support should only be turned on if expressly enabled, otherwise some of the ipv4 connections never conect
I added this in again, you need to specify:
in the master and minion configs
