The theme for the event was to assist people in navigating the NHS system, with a particular focus on new arrivals to the country that may not speak any English.
Our focus was on pharmacies and how best to direct patients to a pharmacist where possible, as they are qualified to assist for a lot of ailments over the counter. This could reduce a lot of wasted time and money as there are around 50 million GP visits every year that could have been handled by a pharmacist.
The purpose of the project is to:
- Decide whether you can go to a pharmacist for your ailment.
- Help find your nearest pharmacy.
- Communicate effectively with the pharmacist.
