schema:version on CreativeWork : "The version of the CreativeWork embodied by a specified resource."
Often versions are not only numbers, but might use patterns like "x.y.z" (major.minor.path), or use version names ("sdo-deimos"), etc.

+1 also, we are likely to use this for describing datasets
