In a US context, we (Schema.org) have been asked to help the COVID-19 response by creating a Schema.org representation of the CDC tabular data format described in https://www.cdc.gov/nhsn/pdfs/covid19/import-covid19-data-508.pdf

Given the urgency, I will fast track a proposal into Pending, and push a minor 7.03 release ASAP.

The nature of the format (hospital reporting data) means that we should make only minimal integration into the rest of Schema.org, so that the definitions can clearly defer to CDC as authoritative. I will post an explanatory document alongside this with an exact mapping.

We did this. It will need reviewing and evaluation in the future but that can be handled via usual Pending process.
