Join us for a one-hour introduction to ParaView, the leading open-source 3D scientific visualization package. We'll briefly go through the main features of this tool, from building a visualization pipeline to scripting and animation.

Time and Place

Where: Room 7010, Library Research Commons, SFU Burnaby Campus

When: Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 @ 3:00 pm



Required Preparation

Assumed Knowledge

No prior visualization experience required.

Software Dependencies

Please install ParaView for your operating system (Mac, Linux, Windows) from . The installation file is few hundred MBs, so make sure to download and install it before the workshop. There are no other software dependencies.

Data is a link to a ZIP file (4.9MB) containing some sample data and codes.


Lessons Notes: No formal notes. We'll determine what the participants are mostly interested in during the workshop, and we'll cover those topics.
