SCL should not alter base system, but see http://mirror.centos.org/centos-6/6/sclo/x86_64/sclo/

You have to filter the provide / require to clean private lib, OR fix soname of the library to use something SCL specific

@remicollet You meant the CentOS7 repo, right? http://mirror.centos.org/centos-7/7/sclo/x86_64/sclo/ I indeed see few packages installing libraries with non-altered soname:

sclo-cassandra3-antlr3-C-1:3.4-3.5.2.14.el7.x86_64
sclo-cassandra3-jffi-native-0:1.2.12-6.el7.x86_64
sclo-cassandra3-sigar-java-0:1.6.5-0.19.git58097d9.el7.x86_64
sclo-cassandra3-sigar-0:1.6.5-0.19.git58097d9.el7.x86_64
sclo-cassandra3-libsodium-0:1.0.15-2.el7.x86_64
sclo-cassandra3-zeromq-0:4.1.6-7.el7.x86_64

...those provide:

libantlr3c.so()(64bit)
libjffi-1.2.so()(64bit)
libsigar-amd64-linux.so()(64bit)
libsigar.so()(64bit)
libsodium.so.23()(64bit)
libzmq.so.5()(64bit)

@remicollet I understand this is a general problem, but do you see some specific collision that we should somehow prioritize?

AFAICS these collisions are with EPEL packages...
Which makes really confusing issue for users
IMHO none are more important than others

I received some reports about libzmq
