WordLand Baseline theme for WordPress

WordLand Baseline is a WordPress theme designed to work well for sites written with WordLand.

It uses styles from baselinePlayground by Dave Winer. It is inspired by the Retrospect theme by Automattic.

How to install the preview release

For WordPress.com sites

You must have a business plan at WordPress.com in order to install Baseline.

1. Download the Source code (.zip) from latest release.
2. In the dashboard of your site go to Appearance > Themes.
3. If there is a button that says "Install new theme" click it. (The button is only there for business users.)
4. Choose the zip file you just downloaded, and Install Now.
5. The page "Installing theme from uploaded file" should appear. Clicking "Activate" will activate the theme.

For self-hosted sites

1. Download the Source code (.zip) from latest release.
2. In the dashboard of your site go to Appearance > Themes.
3. Click the "Add Theme" button, then the "Upload Theme" button.
4. Choose the zip file you just downloaded, and Install Now.
5. The page "Installing theme from uploaded file" should appear. Clicking "Activate" will activate the theme.

Caveats

• This theme was designed to be the beginning theme for WordLand-authored WordPress sites. The goal is to get the minimal features for a nice blog-oriented site running in WordPress.
• The theme only shows the home page (all posts in reverse chronological order) and single posts.
• The home page shows all posts in an infinite scroll.
• It hides comments, sharing links, like buttons, and related posts, even if activated in WordPress or Jetpack.
• Other page types (archives, category pages, tag pages, custom pages, etc.) are not supported. Custom menus are not supported.
• Future releases will support the activation and configuration of additional WordPress features.
