I've just spent the last couple of hours reviewing previous issues but can't seem to fix this. I have a background repeating image set on the element but it does not show in IE7 or IE8. I have tried moving the background to the element but have the same result, not background image. If I refresh the page on IE8 with the background image set on the element I briefly see the background before it becomes white.
I have also set the background to #000000 in my master.css file and again when I look in the developer tools the background that is set says "none" so I'm guessing that's why, but can't resolve.
If I remove the respond.js script the image shows perfectly.
My site is currently not live and on a local MAMP server.
I'm fairly new to all of this so I'm sure it's me doing something in error.
I really would appreciate some help.
I have discovered that if I add the background to the id attached already attached to the element things display as required.
I'm still not convinced that this is the best solution!
If there's a better way I'd love to know.
Seems to be an odd side-effect. Thanks for reporting. Will close as that solution seem sufficient.
