Scout is great, my typical development starts with firing all the tools up and making sure everything is good. The problem is when there is an error, I usually don't find out until I don't see my changes on the page.

It would be great if there could be a simple beep let me know there was an error.

Try this (add to your config.rb file), only tested on Windows OS (it also won't throw an exception on MacOS):

begin
  #require "Win32API" #commenting this out else it will throw an Exception when executed in MacOS environment CMC 2014-01-07 03:21:22 PM
  if Beep.nil?
    Beep = Win32API.new("kernel32", "Beep", ["I", "I"], 'v')
  end
rescue
  Beep = nil?
ensure
end

def beep freq, duration
  unless Beep.nil?
    Beep.call(freq, duration)
  end
end

on_stylesheet_error { |css_path|
    beep(600, 400)
}

I've added this to the Project Road Map for future versions of Scout-App.

Error and Success Alerts now have sound effects play by default, but can be disabled in the settings. This feature has been merged into the master branch and will be in the next release of Scout-App.
