This dialog keeps popping up.

I press Cancel, of course, and a minute later it comes back.

I searched and found this has something to do with XCode, which I am NOT running.

The only unusual thing that's happened recently is I rebooted my Mac because Dropbox wasn't working properly (the reboot fixed Dropbox).

Any help much appreciated.

PS: For now I'm leaving the dialog in the lower left corner of my second monitor. It may become a permanent fixture on my Mac.

Your system is not under attack. You have an application that has crashed and is trying to do a traceback dump so you can file an error report. You should be able to enter the username and password of an administrative user and press the "Take Control" button. You will very likely get a new window popping up that tells you all about the crashed application/process.
