Last night I released FanPress CM 4.0.3 (to be exact, it's v4.0.3-pl1 due to a last minute bugfix).

  • This release includes changes in the way how to connect to the database. As of now, FPCM is using a persistent connection. This may increase the speed in most cases due to reduced overhead.
  • Another change was made in view-object, which is using PHP methode "extract" as of now to internally assign variables.
  • The new version.txt is handled more propperly to avoid any newlines and so on in version information.
  • New and existing users can be informed about their user account information (including password) while save changes. Just enable to new checkbox in the main toolbar.
  • The size of packages will be displayed in web- and cli-based updates if provided.

See below for update- and install-packages.

As of today, the fourth incarnation of the FanPress CM news system enters a state, where I think it's ready for open testing with the first release candidate.

This new version introduces the developement of about six months. Version 4 comes with a completely new module system and a lot of refactoring within actions, views, view-helpers, and so on. Please check commit log for further information.

As of today, no english language pack is provided.

FanPress CM 3.x will be upgradeable to version 4, thus this still needs some work to be done.

Feel free to download the following archive tp create a new system instance for testing purposes.
