Tools and Equipment

Our 11,000 sq ft space is fully-equipped with everything you need to bring your projects to life. We have the tools to help you everything from explore age-old crafts like woodworking and sewing to digital era innovations like 3D printing and laser cutting!

We’re always updating our equipment, but below is a selection of the tools available to our members. Be sure to come in for a tour to see everything we have in this amazing space!

3D Printers (FDM)

Prusa MK3S (x2)

  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm (0.25mm and 0.6mm available)

Prusa Mini (x1)

General Info (All FDM Printers)

  • Materials YES: PLA+, PETG, NinjaFlex (stocked). Must purchase from Seattle Makers. Ask about specialty materials.
  • Materials NO: ABS (due to fumes).
  • Certification: Required for solo use. Covers printing; for modeling, see TinkerCad course.
  • File type: .stl, .obj, .mk3

SLA Printer (Resin)

  • Make & model: (1) Elegoo Mars 2 (Masked Stereolithographic)
  • Build Size: 129mm x 80mm x 150mm (5.08in x 3.15in x 5.90in)
  • Materials YES: Photopolymer resin. Must purchase from Seattle Makers.
  • Materials NO: Any material not approved by Seattle Makers (ask us).
  • Certification: Required for guided use (coming soon). 3D Printer certification is a prerequisite.

Screen Printing

Metal CNC Mill

  • Specs: Gecko G540 drivers, LinuxCNC control box
  • Materials YES: Aluminum (easily), Stainless Steel (slowly)
  • Accessories: Touch probe, endmills, flycutters, vise, tooling plate
  • Certification: Not currently offered. Let us know if interested.

Wood CNC Router

  • Make & model: (1) Shapeoko Benchtop 3D Cutting Machine

  • Max material thickness: 2.5″
  • Max cut thickness: Up to 2.5″ (depending on bit)
  • What it can do: Engraving, sign making, furniture prototyping, intricate inlays.
  • Materials YES: Wood (MDF, plywood, solid wood), Polycarbonate (special bit)
  • Materials NO: Metal, glass
  • Certification: VCarve design class AND machine certification required for solo use.

Personal Equipment Policies

Bringing Your Own Tools

We welcome members bringing their own tools to the makerspace:

  • We need to notify our insurance about the tool
  • Safety assessments will be conducted
  • Some equipment may not be approved due to safety concerns

Tool Borrowing


Damage Policy

If equipment is damaged due to a member's negligent actions that clearly violate the Safety Orientation Agreement, Seattle Makers reserves the right to bill the member for:

  • The market price of the damaged equipment
  • Associated labor costs
