Description

Description

When a root prim has an alpha texture and any child prim has non-alpha texture (specifically on face 0), then the Alpha mode drop-down is unavailable. In older viewers, this Alpha mode drop-down would be available.

Image
  1. Rez 2 default box prims
  2. Box A, leave as default plywood
  3. Box B, set the diffuse Blinn-phong texture to "Hair Straight Thick" from the Library
  4. Box B, Set Alpha mode to alpha mask with a mask cutoff of 5
  5. Link Box A & Box B with Box A as root.
  6. Edit the linkset and observe that you can change the alpha mode between None, blend and mask as expected
  7. Unlink the boxes and relink with Box B as root
  8. Edit the linkset and observe you cannot change the alpha mode.

Bug does not reproduce on the LL pre-PBR viewer https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/6.6.16.6566955269.html
Well...
Note: Depending on how the object is selected in 6.6.16.6566955269 it will work or not. If edit mode is enabled (ctrl+3) and the alpha object is clicked, then the Alpha mode drop-down is available. If the non-alpha object is clicked then the Alpha mode drop-down is not available

Video of 7.2: https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7e831ba3-f1fe-4b3b-a21e-a0b892c25ede

Workaround: Click Edit linked in the edit tool floater, deselect the plywood (non-alpha) prim, edit the alpha mode as normal.
