The following code gives an error in Firefox (works fine in Safari):

    $('#test').select2({
        query: function(query) {
            var data = {};
            data.more = false;
            data.results = [
                { text: "Western", children: [
                    { id: "CA", text: "California" },
                    { id: "AZ", text: "Arizona" }
                ] },
                { text: "Eastern", children: [
                    { id: "FL", text: "Florida" }
                ] }
            ];
            query.callback(data);
        }
    });
});

The element is a "hidden" input tag. The error is: elem.dispatchEvent is not a function

BTW, I'm using jQuery 2.0.3.

Not a Bug!

This turned out to be a bug in the FireQuery extension for Firefox.
