For many years, we've given the option to add a title attribute in menus.
We should discuss whether to remove it.
-giving contextual information to users visually
-ZERO SEO value
-useless for touch devices
-not used by most screenreaders (accessibility)
-can cause other accessibility issues
-advised against by http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/H33.html
-Doesn't work with modern WP themes (anything using the standard wp_nav_menu instead of wp_list_pages as of WordPress 3.0)
@michaeltorbert I am perfectly fine with removing this option. We have two options on the Edit Page screen - Title Attribute and Menu Label. I believe both can be removed.
remove titleatr from importer-exporter class file #628
remove menulabel from importer-exporter class file #628
remove call to aioseop_list_pages for #628
remove main title attribute and menu label functions #628
remove more functions for title atr and menu label
remove the last of titleatr #628
remove the last of menulabel #628
All traces of the menu label and title attribute should be gone from the code.
(Any database entries are untouched though.)
This is tested and is good.
