I couldn't find any official mention of this, so I thought I'd come out and ask if this is being considered.

It's not on the roadmap currently. No plans to add it, if there's a lot of community requests for it we could look at it.

How about support for PG read replication?

We'll implement read replication across all dialects once we refactor all the connection handling to a more abstract level.

To be clear, you can execute any literal value or function name using Sequelize.fn('functionName', Sequelize.literal('literalValue')) which may suit your needs

Yeah, I’ve been doing that. I think if you only supported the data types, that might be helpful. For modeling.

Hi, i'm interested in postgis support as well, a plugin would probably be a good solution, but i wonder how / if it is possible to define custom types (one would need to define the way to read/write to the typed column) and custom indexes.
I managed to find out how to do that in node-orm2 (it wasn't so so pretty) and wondered if things are easier to extend in sequelize ?

Also interested in postgis support as that is the main reason we use postgres in the first place.

Same here. It would be great if postgis could be supported!

I think a more general module allowing easy extension of new types would be even better.

Yeah an extension that lets you easily add datatypes and the like would be really nice.

Closing this, since postgis support has landed. #2839 will be used to track general gis / geometry support
