MySQL 8 information_schema object type 'SYSTEM VIEW' issues #3121

In MySQL 8.0 the tables in information_schema db are of type SYSTEM VIEWwhich breaks Sequel Pro when it does the SHOW FULL TABLES query.

Previous MySQL versions already returned SYSTEM VIEW, which Sequel Pro interprets as TABLE. Coincidentally previous MySQL versions returned a valid table syntax for queries like


which made it look like Sequel Pro worked as expected.
However in MySQL 8.0 this will return a CREATE VIEW … syntax instead.
