Disable use of the gold linker on cross-targets r? @Ms2ger @jdm The gold linker often either produces errors or incorrect binaries in cross-target builds. This pulls in Josh's fixes plus has a set of additional fixes for privacy, remove glob usage (which caused a break in this Rust when combined with
use libc;).
