the nightly download page[1] doesnt mention how one is expected to update the nightly version of the servo-browser tech-demo.

Does it update on a regular basis in the background (like Firefox does)?
Am I supposed to update it manually by re-downloading and re-installation?

thx for the great progress on this project! love it.

Any updates will have to be manual. We should amend the content in https://github.com/servo/download.servo.org to mention this.

As a follow-up note, when the Nightlies get updated isn't documented anywhere. Is there a regular time when new builds get pushed to be downloaded, or does it vary? This should probably be documented (in the best case build upload time could be automatically shown on the DL page).

I believe it's in the name ("nightly" stands for "nightly build").

Yes, but there are multiple time zones in the world :p

I'd imagine the builds get updated sometime around the US night. But is it PST? EST? That would be good to document. Otherwise it's a guessing game of "hmm, I wonder if the new builds are up yet".

Can the build filenames be timestamped?

It would be really nice to get automatic updates (#9831). If that isn't going to happen soon, I agree that the approximate time that new nightly builds come out should be documented on the download page.

It would also be nice if the build date could be displayed somewhere like it is in Firefox Nightly so it would be easy to tell if you are up to date.
