*** update ***
fixed on Joyent's ubuntu 12.04 image by doing horrid Redis reinstall, first installing missing jemalloc:
antirez/redis#722

Original issue:
The simple tutorial was working fine on my home network with a VirtualBox ubuntu, but not on Joyent ubuntu with a clean install (it was not sharing between browsers), so I tried sharejs-exampleserver and got this:
Version 0.6.2: Error: Redis connection to 127.0.0.1:6379 failed - connect ECONNREFUSED
at RedisClient.on_error (/root/node_modules/share/node_modules/redis/index.js:163:24)
at Socket. (/root/node_modules/share/node_modules/redis/index.js:86:14)

so I'm going down the Redis rabbit hole to debug (maybe it's a port conflict on the Joyent box?)
but maybe you've seen this before and have advice?

Maybe I'll try the .7 version on derby? I mostly need the OT (Thank you for ShareJS! It is awesome! I tried something similar in 2005 with the Flash Communication Server, and my project crashed and burned when Adobe jacked up the cost of FCS)
