Requirements Management

Project description

This project is the front-end for the part_management_backend project.

I'm starting these two projects as a way for me to improve on what I already know.

I have already created a fairly complex and in-depth part management system for my current employer. The system was built completely with Python/Django, and jQuery/Bootstrap and whatever JS plugins were needed for different functionality.

Since that is considered proprietary material - which my employer paid for - I am embarking on the journey of re-writing everything, but this time with a different stack.

The backend (repo referenced above) is made using DRF, and the front-end (this project) will be built using VueJS and Vuetify. I would like to stick to the stack/tools as much as possible and only introduce external dependencies when actually needed.

The main motivation for this project is that I believe it will be truly useful for a lot of software engineers out there, especially when - hopefully - getting dockerized and deployment-ready.

This roadmap is bound to grow, and then move to the Projects feature here on github (kanban board), but for now:

  • Opens up to an empty home page
  • Implement a part table with add/remove for parts
  • Wire part add/remove to backend
  • Implement revisions on front-end

Anyone is more than welcome to contribute: whether you're a pro or just getting started, the more the merrier.

For now, it you think it's a bug or a security risk, open it up on github. If you just want to get talking, reach out to me on my LinkedIn account
