when i run my program like this:
echo foo | <myprog>, i want it to handle the foo input, but not to echo it back to me.
the included example program demos this nicely:

~/g/s/g/s/r/example ❯❯❯ go run echo.go
> foo <-- manual text input
foo <--- echo output as expected
~/g/s/g/s/r/example ❯❯❯ echo foo | go run echo.go
> foo <-- i don't want it to automatically show this
foo <--- echo output as expected
~/g/s/g/s/r/example ❯❯❯

is what i want somehow possible?
