Doesn't show or download images/videos

Describe the problem
I installed the latest Signal (7.37.0) via Flatpak (1.15.91) on my FLX1 device, but somethings won't work and i don't know why...

I see recieved images or videos but i can't show then, there only blurred. If I touch one of the images or videos, the loading bar is active for some seconds an stops without any response. This behavior is new to me and I don't know what could be causing it, perhaps due to missing permissions.

On my old Librem 5 Signal works without this issue. There is installed Flatpak 1.10. 8 with Signal 7.37.0... i don't know what's going wrong.

• Have you altered the permissions in any way?
• Could you paste the output of uname -a and cat /etc/os-release?
• Does running the application from the terminal produce any interesting output? Could you provide the output of flatpak run org.signal.Signal > signal.log? I'm not sure if it's sensitive or not, so look through it before you send it here.

From my understanding the Furi device us using the Android/Halium stack, which is not really mainline Linux, and may exhibit strange behavior because of that. I can attempt to replicate this using Droidian on my Oneplus 6 in a week or so.

I only add the permission "filesystem=home", to get the file browser running.

Yes, FuriPhone runs with/on an Android/Halium stack.

I've not been able to replicate this yet since I've not been able to get droidian installed on my oneplus 6. I was able to get a very old version installed but wasn't able to get it up to date.

Would you be able to install an arm64 .deb and see if that works? Is your OS able to do that? The last time we built a .deb is here: https://github.com/signalflatpak/signal/releases/tag/7.31.0 and there's another deb repo here: https://gitlab.com/undef1/signal-desktop-builder/-/packages

I have installed it but I can't authorize the Signal version. According to the error message, I should install a newer version. Since version 7.31 there are some database changes, so i can't copy my profile ...

Maybe we can test a .deb in the current version?

Could you try one of the builds from undef1?

I tried 7.33, but get the following error on startup:

Error: /opt/Signal/resources/app.asar.unpacked/node_modules/@signalapp/ringrtc/build/linux/libringrtc-arm64.node: undefined symbol: pulse_rust_init

With the version 7.32 it starts, but is too old for the authentication

I will try it again, with the next upcoming version... :)

Okay - so it's likely an issue with either upstream signal/electron or a difference with your OS; the whole halium/libhybris stack is not something I have any experience using. If you're able to run with some sort of verbose mode and compare it to a standard Linux platform, that might be helpful.
