We have a few open issues that are related:
OpenTelemetry (abbr: OTel) provides a vendor agnostic, widely adopted solution.
While we use Prometheus / Grafana we should provide a telemetry implementation that allows users to use their preferred logging / tracing / metrics stack.
OTel has the following exporters - https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib/tree/main/exporter

While there is mature rust support there doesnt appear to be good macro support yet.
