The new version of TinyMCE includes some significant improvements in the user editing experience. The dynamic insert table is worth a mention on its own. Are there any plans to integrate this in the next Silverstripe release?

I'm also interested to get an update about this. http://www.silverstripe.org/why-tinymce/ actually mentioned that other editors might be considered, but that no suitable options were found. Has CKEditor not become a good option? Though I do understand that a lot of custom work would need to be redone, of course.

Anyway, curious to know whether you've been talking about TinyMCE4! :) Supposedly, it is more capable of handling the infamous Chrome bug that's adding tags everywhere. I'm willing to help on this.

Soo, any update on this?

The issues in Chrome are causing layouts to sometimes fail for some of my customers... :/

I realise it's a job that will take quite some work! But what steps are needed before it can be started? Perhaps 3.2 needs to be released? Or could work already start in parallel before that, or even as a target for 3.2?

Or do we still need a formal decision on whether TinyMCE 4 is in fact the next editor to integrate (since you might be considering moving to another editor)?

I'm wondering these things because I might try to already start working on it. I don't want to waste my hours if it's in a wrong direction :)

@JorisDebonnet it's planned, but I'm not certain on the progress.

It's currently on the uservoice page so that's the best place to ask.

I'm going to close this issue as it's a question/implicit feature request which is what UserVoice is for
