I just tried to drag and drop a link for an mp3 download into the page, would be nice to be able to download the link server side.

That's a nice idea. We'd need some kind of indicator on these files that the server is downloading them. Also, It'd be nice to be able to paste one or more links into a text-box on demand. Probably best to add an extra main menu button for this feature.

Do you want to do something like GMail's attach file? Like a rollout?
Would also be useful if we implement BOX/DropBox/GDrive apis later.

Or it could be like a dialog box when uploading. This would allow us to combine Upload Folder and Upload File.

Hmm, not a fan of extra dialogues. I'd like to keep these upload buttons easily reachable. How about these options:

  • Upload file
  • Upload folder
  • Upload from... (which then reveals the sub-options in a dropdown or similar)
    • A URL
    • Multiple URLs
    • Any APIs

I'm not sure, the front-end won't be hard to tweak so that will work for now and we can change our minds in the future if needed.

Could even download youtube mp4s directly to the server:

I wonder why this awesome feature not implemented yet 😃

It'll require a few UI changes and after some investigation, I found that I'd like to see kevva/download#91 and kevva/download#117 fixed before giving it a try.
